There is always synchronicity at work isn't there.
Last week my town, Woodend, was fortunate to host a Tibetan Cultural Festival for five days which included the creation and dissolution of a wonderful sand mandala. Always a profound lesson about attachment to watch one of these astonishingly beautiful works of sacred art created, and then destroyed.
And then something came up in the meditation class this morning about impermanence and how only bad things like pain or disappointment or sorrow seem to stay with us. But it's not true, everything has a limited span, we tend to think only the good things pass because we like having them! But even chronic pain or depression can be lifted or lightened. It's intense nature makes us feel it lasts longer than the good times, but the reality is, it's probably about the same.
Sometimes re-programing our perceptions can make all the difference.
Instead of waiting for the next bad thing, wait for the next good thing.
Instead of worrying about something special being gone when you are there in it, be there in it and don't waste the precious time.
And when you have the bad times, relax a little if you can, because they don't last for ever either!
