... and a brief ponder on siege and famine in Woodend.
But back to a Fabulous Friday.
No work.
No shopping - supermarket closed, big shop yesterday = fridge well stocked.
On my second coffee and still in pj's, fire going nicely and an ALL WEEKEND BUFFY MARATHON on the tv. Oh yes, it doesn't get any better.
(And I thought I might be a good little nerd and do some study. Hah!)
Moving on. Why does my town think it will starve in 24 hours?
I see this every year at Easter, Christmas and any other time our solo supermarket closes for a day. You cannot move in the aisles for people charging around with huge, fully loaded trolleys; shopping like the Apocalypse is upon us, and you know, you can't run out of oven fries!
Last night was no exception. I stopped by on my way home from work to make sure we had the holy trinity in place, milk, bread, dog food, and it was madness. I saw old ladies in the melee I've never seen before in the 14 odd years I have lived in this town of less than 4000 souls.
And you know what the funny thing is, tomorrow, as soon as it re-opens on Saturday morning, they will all be back again re-stocking.
Karen, loved your share! have a great extended weekend.
Much love to you and Woodend..
