Walking through mud

Well, Dad is still in hospital, they are talking about Monday as the get-out-of-jail day now. 

The energy between these last two full moons (full moon in Aquarius last Thursday night) with the bonus of the eclipse in between has been a shocker in many ways and it will be very good to move out of it. Lots of slow and heavy energy, hard to shift.

The weirdness has continued here today with the dog, (and I still don't know whether to be cross, amused or admiring) who wandered into my little meditation room and knocked over a large bottle of mantra water I had there from a recent mantra retreat I'd done - and proceeded to drink it off the carpet. Yes, there was plenty of water in all his usual spots. He decided he needed mantra water... 

He hasn't put his head back in the room since so I guess it did whatever needed doing!

Really good session with client this morning which I usually find energising, but am flat now and tired to my bones. 

Should drink the rest of the mantra water off the carpet perhaps?

oh happy day

A day of working at home is always a happy day. Had both fires roaring, had no-one but my Leo Bear for company, which is fine! Had Pema Chodron to listen to, all 7 discs, and lots of beautiful stones to play with making jewellery. Am really looking forward to home time when the business is sold!

In amongst all of todays play was some "work' in arranging some tsang to burn as an offering when His Holiness arrives at the monastery at Atisha centre this Thursday, and when he makes his way up to the Stupa site for the blessing. I am more than happy to be incense wallah!!!! Especially if it means HH is walking by me and my vincinity!!!!

In real terms?
My kitchen is full of branches of juniper being quick dried in the microwave oven, so that we have enough to keep three offering fires going! FYI fresh juniper takes about 10 minutes to get to dry and slightly crispy in the microwave.

Poor "Maude Hardcastle"! She has had the brunt of this since I bailed out on the whole organising thing last year. She only got off a plane on Sunday after 2 weeks back in the States, and it has been hello to the husband in passing, and into the fray of event management. Emotional event management; because everyone wants to be near the Dalai Lama and feel special by helping.

But I am helping, because she only got landed with the incense gig yesterday!

It's raining!

What a blessing!
Heavy, steady, drenching rain, the kind we used to get when they talked about this town as a place where it "rained for nine months of the year and dripped of the trees for the other three."
Those were the days when we complained about rain - hard to believe now.
The Weather Man used to apologise for wet days!

On our tin roof it is a steady mantra of blessing, and waking during the night to hear it was a joy.
Today every pore of our earth is open and receiving this gift.

Leo has, I guess, the only legitimate reason to be less than happy. No walk on wet days! He is a Chow Chow with the thick double coat, and among Chows he is doubly blessed with more coat than two or three dogs. This means that a walk in the rain equals a whole day of being wet, he takes forever to dry!

Buffy update - that is Buffy the traumatised chook, sole survivor of The Great Chook Massacre - she seems to the be recovering from her post-traumatic stress syndrome and actually emerging from the chook house again. I hope to get some friends for her this weekend. Can't have her sad and lonely as well as traumatised.
Plus, we are out of eggs! And I can't bear those dreadful excuses for eggs that you buy at the supermarket. You can taste the misery of a caged chook.

If an angel descends with each drop of rain, falling to its appointed place, we are in a place of angels today.
