taking your own photo is very entertaining

My new computer lets me take my own photo and I am finding it endlessly entertaining to sit and pull faces at myself and then play with the results.

It has confirmed what I have long suspected, I have no real idea of what I look like. I have been known to point to myself in a picture and ask who that person is.

I am not sure if this is a good or bad thing but with all this social media becoming part of daily life, you kind of need a few photos of yourself lying around handy. And not the ones where you have had a glass of wine too many, or no-one gave you enough time to suck in your tummy or whatever part of you needs to be less.

And it is the new bad to cut someone once special out of a shot and then keep using it.

I love the subtle bullying of some of these sites, the ones that have a little bar half filled, just like your inadequate profile, so you can measure your progress while you try and find a picture that won't make everyone sick.

And as for "lets find a cute and or amusing image and use that instead"; seriously unless you are going to really commit to Hello Kitty, suck it up princess and put your mug out there like the rest of us. Chances are if we are on the same social network, we already know you and what you look like, yes?

(Although full marks to the guy on Facebook who friended me and uses ever so slighty out of focus black and white nudes as his profile pic from time to time. Maybe he really does have a big dick, or maybe he just is one, lucky him.)
