So back in Xining, and we are all a bit tired. Especially when we look at the extra luggage we have all aquired. and to top it off, my phone has died, so I have to go buy a cheap one tomorrow to see me out for these last days.
So, Labrang was very nice, very scenic, busy, the monastery is as they promised, very big. A day there was enough really and I think we were all happy to hit the road and head to Rebkong.
Again, the most amazing scenery. And, quite exciting, well for some of us, we drove through the village where Gedun Choepal was born. (Bear with me on the spelling here, this is a very challenging keyboard.)
Strange new hotel in Rebkong, like a castle up on the hill, but wow, they have hairdryers! The next day we went to Gonlakha monastery, where I did my retreat, so very lovely to return. Lots of smiles all around and they all wanted me to stay for a few nights. The weather had turned cold so we all sat in the kitchen for our tea and tsampa.
The next day was even more special and I will write in more detail maybe tomorrow, its late now, but we had the most special and amazing day at Ringzin Rampel Ling monastery. A Ngakpa monastery and village that has been there since the 12th century. This had been the other option for a retreat place for me, but I will definately be back there!
No surprises here, but I have another project underway, you have all been warned. Yes I am going to hit you up for money :)
Hands up those who are surprised that Karen has a new project.... No one : ) Actually fully expecting it and keen to find out what this new project is. The Monasteries sound amazing and I am sure your retreat monks were keen to have you stay there some more. Smile nicely when you get your bags weighed, wear lots of cloths so you don't have to pack them and I am sure you will be fine.
love ya

I'm poor, when are you starting the charity for penniless Australian children in geelong with no soup? Obviously Mathew and i need to try harder :P
Thats a shame about your phone, it would die right at the end wouldn't it?
Looking forward to having you back soon.
Love you xoxox
